Opening Titles (24 September 2002 - 20 September 2011):
 
The show's opening title sequence consists of a shot of rippling water, running over other shots of people going about their day-to-day lives in Glasgow. Featured in the titles is the Clyde Auditorium.
 
Around 10 seconds into the sequence, shots of Shieldinch begin to appear, such as the Tall Ship, the boatyard, the Conway Spices building and the deli.
 
Finally, the same rippling water effect is seen again, which the show's title emerges from.
Closing Titles:
 
Once again, the rippling water is played behind the acting and production credits.
The final slide displays the River City logo, the BBC Scotland logo and the official website.
Recaps and Previews:
Since 2008, a recap of previous events has been shown prior to the current episode.
Also, when the episode ends, a preview of next week's episode is shown, before the credits appear.
